Title: Remarks on flux-tubes and defects in holography
Abstract:
I will discuss the physics of a cusped Wilson loop in N=4 super Yang-Mills theory in the presence of a large R-charge and at strong coupling. This setup provides a bridge between defect CFT data, the structure of the static quark-antiquark potential and large-charge dynamics. In particular, at a critical value of the charge one crosses from a region dominated by the familiar Coulomb-like singularity to a “deconfined” situation. I will briefly comment on the fusion of Wilson lines.
