Title: Quantum Mechanics from Factorization Algebras
Abstract:
Based on the factorization algebra formulation developed by K. Costello and O. Gwilliam, we will show how the algebra of quantum operators in a quantum mechanical system can be obtained by going to the cohomology of a certain factorization algebra. We will show how to generalize this construction to also include the states of the system and how to compute quantum expectation values. We will introduce all necessary concepts in the talk and explain their connection to the path integral formulation. The talk will be based on 2112.11495 and 2412.06912.
