 on Theory: A Modern Approach\n\nAbstract:\n\nIn this talk\, we will review
  the formalism to study massless linear perturbations of black holes\, whi
 ch goes by the name of black hole perturbation theory (BHPT). The Teukolsk
 y master equation\, as well as its connection to the Heun differential equ
 ations is discussed. We then discuss novel solutions obtained via 2-d CFT 
 methods\, as well as their relation to the traditional Mano-Suzuki-Takasug
 i (MST) solutions in general relativity. Finally\, from these solutions we
  will show how to extract scattering amplitudes which are relevant for gra
 vitational wave phenomenology.
