DESCRIPTION:Self-intersecting fuzzy extra dimensions and chiral fermions fr
 om N=4\nsuper-Yang-Mills\n\nAbstract:\n\nWe discuss new solutions in N=4 S
 YM and the IKKT matrix model\, which can be\ninterpreted in terms of squas
 hed fuzzy extra dimensions.\nThey can be stabilized either by adding a sof
 t SUSY breaking flux term\, or by\ninternal rotation.Remarkably\, even the
  rotating backgrounds\nlead to a low-energy sector with 3 generations of c
 hiral fermions coupled to\nscalar and gauge fields\, with standard Lorentz
 -invariant kinematics.\nThis sector arises from zero modes localized in th
 e extra dimensions\, which are\noblivious to the background rotation at lo
 w energies.\nIn addition there is a sector of "heavy" excitations which is
  not described by a\nLorentz-invariant field theory\, but is argued to be 
 suppressed\nat low energies assuming that resonances can be avoided. We id
 entify\nconfigurations which may lead to physics reminiscent of the\nbroke
 n phase of the standard model.
