Title: Classical black hole scattering from a worldline quantum field theory
Abstract:
In this talk I will investigate the link between scalar-graviton S-matrix elements and expectation values of operators in a worldline QFT (WQFT), both used to describe classical scattering of two black holes in the post-Minkowskian (PM) expansion. The resulting link provides a theoretical framework connecting recent state-of-the-art efforts to compute high-precision observables relevant for gravitational wave astronomy.
