DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Gerald Dunne\n\nTitle: Resurgence for QFT\n\nAbstract:
 \n\nThe application to physics of the modern mathematical theory of resurg
 ent asymptotics has revealed a vast world of new relations connecting pert
 urbative and nonperturbative physics. The main motivation is to find new w
 ays to compute using the quantum field theory path integral\, by developin
 g new methods to analytically continue between perturbation theory and non
 perturbative methods such as semiclassical expansions and lattice gauge th
 eory. This talk will introduce the key ideas underlying resurgence\, illus
 trated with examples from quantum mechanics\, matrix models and quantum fi
 eld theory.
