DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Gang Yang\n\nMatrix models at large N\nAs explained in
  the previous lectures\, via localization techniques\, the free energy of 
 ABJM theory in three-sphere is reduced to a matrix model integral. In the 
 lecture\, I will explain some basic facts of matrix model\, and the plan i
 s to cover the following materials: (1) some introduction and background o
 f matrix model and its connection to several problems\; (2) the formulatio
 n of matrix model and its simplification in the large N limit\; (3) a rela
 tively detailed study of the so-called one-cut solution\; (4) back to ABJM
  theory\, a brief account of the non-perturbative planar free energy obtai
 ned by solving the corresponding matrix model. We will mainly follow secti
 on 7 and 8 of Marino's lecture 1104.0783. For further details of matrix mo

 erences therein.
