I will describe a new approach to develop a non-perturbative effective framework for quantum many-body systems which integrates weak and strong coupling physics, and provide a valid description even at intermediate energy scales with a small number of parameters. In the case of QCD and non-Fermi liquids, this reduces to generalized semi-holography, where the infrared can be described by a dual gravitational theory in a self-consistent way. I will describe some concrete applications for QGP, hadrons and exotic states, and mechanisms for novel superconductivity.
